The Hype...
The toughest part about getting started as a fly fishing guide, or simply carrying your experience to a new location, is getting your name out there. As in most industries, here it's all about who you know. The Guidepool was established to bridge the gap between lodges/outfitters and guides worldwide.
Through The Guidepool, a bio of each guide-member is posted providing photos, qualifications, experience, etc. to subscribing lodges worldwide. How will this benifit you? It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that if you want to guide somewhere, this is the best way to get your name out to as many lodges as possible.

Steve Laurent (Founder)- "Fly fishing has always been my passion. I was hired on with a well-known lodge in Alaska in 1990. Since then, I have guided and managed lodge operations for the past 18 years. I remember trying to get my foot in the door with a number of exceptional operations and know how difficult it is for most people. Typically, you need to know someone or have everything the lodge operator is looking for at that time. The Guidepool was created as a way to help these future guides get into the loop of good operations worldwide."
